You can say that in every large city there are many things to see and do, but Edinburgh stands apart. We have a huge number of extraordinary places alongside a fantastic atmosphere. If you are looking to visit a friendly, safe, mysterious and extremely fascinating city, Edinburgh has everything you could want. This city seriously captivates with its magic. Many things to see and do

Some people like to admire nature, others like to visit museums and others like to spend their time actively enjoying thrilling water sports. Everyone has their own preferences and Edinburgh is a place that will easily meet them all. When it comes to top attractions and places worth seeing. Besides the famous Edinburgh Castle, there is, of course, Arthur’s Seat but if you already know it then maybe you should check out places like The Royal Yacht Britannia, National Museum of Scotland, The Royal Botanic Garden, Camera Obscura, The National Galleries of Scotland or The Museum of Childhood. There are other great spots like The Queen’s Gallery, The Scott Monument, The Edinburgh Dungeon, The Real Mary King’s Close or Edinburgh Zoo too. It’s just not possible to name all these attractions because there are so many of them, which only proves how attractive Edinburgh is.

Living history on every street corners

If you are interested in the fascinating history of Edinburgh, this city has a lot to offer you. Edinburgh is made up of two parts: The Old Town, which has retained its medieval character, and the New Town, which dates back to the Age of the Enlightenment. The Old Town is dominated by dark stone houses and cobbled streets. In the past, this part sank in the waste poured into the gutters through the windows of the apartments and clouds of smoke. Because of the rising smog and unpleasant smell, the Old Town used to be called Auld Reekie. However even back in that time, the capital was recognisable centre of culture and science across the world. The city expanding beyond its medieval boundaries, the New Town was born. This part is now famous for its elegant squares and beautiful buildings in classicist style. As a result, there are many fantastic places to see and visit. From spectacular historic buildings like Edinburgh Castle and the Palace of Holyroodhouse and Holyrood Abbey to the incredibly modern buildings like Edinburgh’s Science Centre and the Scottish Parliament.

Plenty of different tours to choose from

If you are interested in guided tours there are a lot of them so you can easily choose the one that suits your preferences. The basic classification includes Sightseeing Tours, Day Trip Tours and Free Tours. For example, you can take a look at the whole city from the double-decker open-top bus, visit Loch Ness or Scottish Highlands on a day trip or take part in many thematic tours. When it comes to themed tours, you’ll find everything from Harry Potter, through ghosts, witches and the mysterious undergrounds of Edinburgh to food tours or the remarkable graffiti trails all over Edinburgh. Tours are paid as well as free ones, so you can easily adjust the theme and costs to your individual wishes.

I know you have been waiting for our shameless plug, an hear it is. We also deliver tours from Edinburgh and across Scotland. However, they are at the more…adventurous side of the scale.

Outdoor Activities Edinburgh & Scotland

Our values reflect those of a business started by a small group of rock climbers and mountain bikers. The experiences that we have had adventuring, and our passion for the outdoors, has led us to choose a lifestyle dedicated to sharing our love for the outdoors with others. The approach that we take to the experiences that we provide, and the business that we run, is that of sustainability, and an unapologetic quest for quality.

For us at Intrepidus Outdoors, we recognise that our experiences kayaking in clean rivers, surfing on unpolluted beaches and climbing frozen waterfalls have contributed to who we are as people. Therefore, protecting the planet so that the next generation of adventurers can have their own experiences, is hugely important for us. We believe that for people, communities and businesses to make the choice to minimise their impact on our planet, they must first value the planet that we have. We feel that the best way for people to value our blue planet, is to have first hand quality experiences in nature. They can then see the beauty of a forest, feel the power of an ocean and learn to love what is outside our towns and cities, so that they then fight to protect them. We strive to through the products that we deliver make a small difference to peoples understanding of the impact that they have on our world.

Our experiences adventuring have made us who we are and Intrepidus Outdoors is a reflection of us. We provide real adventurous experience that we hope you will cherish.
