Food & Nutrition
Whilst Hiking:
To maintain energy levels throughout the challenge, it’s essential to pack a variety of high-energy, nutrient-dense snacks. Ideal options include chocolate, energy bars (like Clif Bars), nuts, dried fruit, and trail mix, all of which provide a quick and sustained energy boost. For a more substantial meal, consider bringing a sandwich or wrap for a convenient and filling option. Choose lightweight, portable foods that are easy to carry, won’t spoil, and can withstand the demands of the hike. Having the right hiking snacks ensures you stay fueled, focused, and ready to conquer each peak.
Whilst Travelling:
For the long journeys between peaks, it’s important to pack filling, energy-boosting meals like sandwiches or pasta in secure containers to keep you fueled for the next climb. Lighter snacks such as crisps, biscuits, and fruit are great for easy munching during the ride. Since you’ll be traveling in a shared, compact minibus, opt for travel-friendly foods that are mess-free and don’t have strong odors, ensuring a comfortable experience for everyone on board. Packing the right food for the 3 Peaks Challenge will help keep your energy levels high and make the journey between mountains more enjoyable.
