Three Peaks Challenge

The Three Peaks Challenge is one of the most popular and demanding outdoor challenges in the UK.  It involves summiting Ben Nevis in Scotland, Scafell Pike in the English Lake District and Snowdon in Wales. This is a serious and physically demanding challenge that involves 25 miles of walking in around 14+ hours, with 10 hours of travelling in between.

The Intrepidus Outdoors Three Peaks Challenge provides transport, a night of accommodation and qualified mountain leaders to support you in your quest to achieve three peaks success. We work with private groups and deliver open tours to support as many people as possible achieve one of the UK’s most extreme challenges.

The Three Peaks Challenge

What to Expect

The Three Peaks Challenge is a serious undertaking that needs a good level of physical fitness and mental strength to achieve. After all, we are climbing three large mountains back to back. It is also important to prepare yourself for ascending and descending these mountains in the dark, a significant proportion of both Scafell Pike and Snowdon will be done at night.

People pitching themselves against this challenge will need to ensure that they have a solid foundation of fitness and confidence on their feet. This will give you and your team the very best chance of success. The Three Peaks Challenge is an incredible adventure but not for the faint of heart!

If you have any other question about the Three Peaks Challenge or how to prepare, don’t hesitate to get in touch.

The Three Peaks Plan

Day 1 –Meet your group and your guide at Edinburgh Waverly Train Station and transfer up to Fort William. Check in to your accommodation near Fort William, listen to the evening briefing, and go through the equipment checks with your mountain leader.

Day 2 – Breakfast and then the short drive to Ben Nevis (aiming for a 7am start).  Now the adventure begins! The ascent and descent of Ben Nevis takes around 6 hours and then we head south for an evening ascent of Scafell Pike. England’s tallest mountain should take approximately 4.5 hour to get up and down.

Day 3 – Once we are off Scafell Pike we get straight back in the mini bus to take a night transfer over to Snowdon. We make an early morning ascent of Snowdon to complete your Three Peak Challenge! We usually head over to Pete’s Eats in Llanberis for a well-deserved breakfast before heading home.

We can drop groups either at Manchester Training station or back in Edinburgh.

Mission Statment :

To deliver the highest quality adventurous experiences to entertain, thrill and inspire.

Our values as an adventure tourism provider and a business

Our values reflect those of a business started by a small group of rock climbers and mountain bikers. The experiences that we have had adventuring, and our passion for the outdoors, has led us to choose a lifestyle dedicated to sharing our love for the outdoors with others. The approach that we take to the experiences that we provide, and the business that we run, is that of sustainability, and an unapologetic quest for quality.

For us at Intrepidus Outdoors, we recognise that our experiences kayaking in clean rivers, surfing on unpolluted beaches and climbing frozen waterfalls have contributed to who we are as people. Therefore, protecting the planet so that the next generation of adventurers can have their own experiences, is hugely important for us. We believe that for people, communities and businesses to make the choice to minimise their impact on our planet, they must first value the planet that we have. We feel that the best way for people to value our blue planet, is to have first hand quality experiences in nature. They can then see the beauty of a forest, feel the power of an ocean and learn to love what is outside our towns and cities, so that they then fight to protect them. We strive to through the products that we deliver make a small difference to peoples understanding of the impact that they have on our world.

Our experiences adventuring have made us who we are and Intrepidus Outdoors is a reflection of us. We provide real adventurous experience that we hope you will cherish.
